What to do in February:
Spray dormant oil on fruit and nut trees, deciduous trees and shrubs, and evergreen trees and shrubs to control overwintering insect eggs. Plant trees, hardy shrubs, fruit and nut trees, berry and grape vines, rose bushes, asparagus crowns, onion plants, seed potatoes, and more. Prep vegetable garden for spring planting season; add compost, aged manure, minerals such as greensand, lava sand, minerals plus, etc. Get soil tests done. Late February: Prune Roses, dormant perennials, ornamental grasses. Finish pruning fruit trees and deciduous trees. Fertilize roses, trees, and shrubs for spring growth. Spray Copper fungicide at bud swell before bloom.
